Door lock

Door lock is safety device used in washing machines and dishwashers.

Door lock is one of the most important safety components in washing machines and dishwashers. It prevents opening the door while machine operates and so access to its rotating parts and hot water.
When the machine is turned on and the door is closed, the door lock being under voltage closes contacts and blocks door. When the machine stops, the switching mechanism turns blocking mechanism to start position and releases the door.

 
Basic families of door locks are ZV 445, ZV 446 and ZV 448. The difference between them is in type of connectors and blocking mechanisms. They are designed as modular products using standard modules and custom designed parts.

 
Door locks family ZV 445

It is the oldest version of bimetal door lock, which operates on the basis of PTC resistor heating bimetal elements. The device has temperature compensation to reduce drifts at changes of ambient temperatures.

 The basic technical characteristics of the door locks ZV 445 are:

 -          blocking: through the blockading of plastic slider
 -          activating: with PTC resistor and bimetal
 -          connectors: 6,3 x 0,8 mm
 -          electrical connection: individual
 -          electrical voltage: 250 V~; 110 V~
 -          switching capacity: 16(4)A - closing; 0(0)A – opening
 -          distance between contacts: less than 3 mm
 -          operating temperature: T 85
 -          minimal life endurance: 10 000 cycles
 -          maximal slider resistance: 5 N
 -          locking time: less than 5 seconds
 -          unlocking time: from 35 to 120 seconds at ambient
            temperature from 10 to 60 drg.C

 Door locks ZV 445 are VDE approved.

 
Door locks family ZV 446
 
This is the latest version of bimetal door lock, which operates on the basis of PTC resistor heating bimetal elements. The device has temperature compensation to reduce drifts at changes of ambient temperatures.
 
Basic characteristics of door locks ZV 446 are:

 -          blocking: blocking of plastic slider
 -          activating: with PTC resistor and bimetal
 -          connector: 6,3 x 0,8 mm
 -          electrical connectors: R5, R2,5, individual
 -          electrical voltage: 250 V~; 110 V~
 -          switching capacity: 16(4)A - closing; 1(1)A – opening
 -          distance between contacts: less than 3 mm
 -          operating temperature: T 85
 -          minimal life endurance: 10 000 cycles
 -          maximal resistance: 5 N
 -          locking time: less than 5 seconds
 -          unlocking time: from 35 to 75 seconds at ambient
            temperature from 10 to 60 dgr.C

 Door locks ZV 446 are VDE approved.

 
Door locks family ZV 448


The electromagnetic door lock, which blocks the plastic slider using electromagnetic coil and switching mechanism. This is not a time delayed door lock.
 
Basic characteristics of door locks ZV 448 are:

 -          blocking: blocking of plastic slider
 -          activating: with electromagnetic coils
 -          connector: 6,3 x 0,8 mm
 -          electrical connectors: R5, R2,5
 -          electrical voltage: 250 V~; 110 V~
 -          switching capacity: 16(6)A
 -          distance between contacts: less than 3 mm
 -          operating temperature: T 85
 -          minimal life endurance: 10 000 cycles
 -          maximal slider resistance: 5 N
 -          locking/unlocking: pulse
