Capillary safety limiter
Capillary safety limiter is a safety electro-mechanical component, which protects the device against overheating.
Capillary limiters are used to protect household and heating appliances against overheating.
Acting on the basis of expansion of fluid in a closed system, made of membranes, capillary and bulb. At present temperature, membranes of capillary assembly turn off switching mechanism and interrupt electrical circuit. Reset is manual.
Basic capillary safety limiter families are KV 441 and SB 201:
Capillary safety limiter KV 441
The basic technical characteristics of capillary safety limiter family KV 441 are the following:
- switching diagram: double-pole off
- switching capacity: 16(4)A / 250 V ~
- minimal life endurance: 3 000 cycles
- temperature range switch-off: 80 – 150 dgr.C
- reset: manual
- operating temperature: T 85
- material of capillary and probe: Cu
- bulb diameter: 6 mm
- connectors: 6,3 x 0,8 mm
- mounting: with a nut M12/ option with screw
Other variable characteristics:
- switch-off temperature
- length of capillary: 500 – 2000 mm
- protection of capillary: PVC – partly or total length
Capillary safety limiters are VDE approved.
Capillary safety limiter SB 201
The basic technical characteristics of capillary limiter family SB 201:

- temperature range switch-off: 80 – 115 dgr.C
- positive safety in case of capillary system leakage
- reset: manual
- operating temperature: T 85
- material of capillary and probe: Cu
- bulb diameter: 6 mm or 2,5 mm
- connectors: 6,3 x 0,8 mm
- mounting: with a nut M12/ option with screw
Other variable characteristics:

- length of capillary: 500 – 2000 mm
- protection of capillary: PVC – partly or whole length
