Bimetal thermometers are used for displaying the temperature in domestic and heating appliances (refrigerators, freezers, ovens, water heaters). Operate on the principle of bimetal spiral bending.

General families of bimetal thermometers are:

 -  thermometers for displaying the temperature of the water
    heaters: BT 218; BT219; BT 224
 -  thermometers for displaying the temperature in refrigerators,
    deep freezers: BT 222, 226, 227
 -  thermometers for displaying the temperature in ovens: BT 271

Basic families of bimetal thermometers that show the temperature in water heaters are different from each other in form and way of fixing. BT 218 and BT 219 are rectangular shaped, BT 224 is round. They are designed to fit the water heater container. The lengths of the sensing elements are adapted to the thickness of the insulation of water heaters.

 The basic technical characteristics of bimetal thermometers are:

 -          installation: with snap-in fixing, cut out for fixing depends
            on the type of thermometer
 -          maximum thickness of mounting plate: BT 218 - max.
            1,2 mm; BT 219 in BT 224 - max.1,0 mm
 -          temperature indication range: 0 - 90 dgr.C
 -          maximum pointer stroke: smaller than 180 angular degrees
 -          insulation thickness: 20 – 70 mm

 All other characteristics, such as the colour of housing and pointer, design of indicating panel by customer requirement.

 
Thermometers for displaying the temperature in refrigerators and deep freezers BT 222, 226, 227

 Families of these thermometers are different from each other by form of thermometer and way of fixing.

 Basic technical characteristic are:

 -          temperature indication: -30 dgr.C to 70  dgr.C
 -          maximum pointer stroke: 270 angular degrees

 Colour of housing, design and colour of indicating panel and colour of pointer by customer requirement.

 
Thermometers for displaying the temperature in ovens BT 271

 The thermometer for the ovens is completely metalic and is designed so, that is fixed to the glass of the oven door with a fixing nut.
 
Basic technical characteristic are:

 -          fixing: fixing nut
 -          design of metal housing: rectangular 36 x 60mm or round
            diam. 22 mm
 -          temperature indication range: from 50 dgr.C to 300 dgr.C
 -          colour of indicating panel; black, silver

 The housing and the nut are nickel plated.
